The picturesque mountain village of Harrietville, located on the Great Alpine Road 26kms from Bright, is situated on the banks of the Ovens River.
Located 332 km north-east of Melbourne, Harrietville is the last town before Mt Hotham, Harrietville is an old goldmining town that was settled in 1852. Its history is captured in a riverside park that pays homage to the local pioneers, and is a pleasant spot to picnic or stretch your legs. If you're properly equipped and very fit, you can take the walking tracks to Mt Hotham or Mt Feathertop. Settled in 1852 by goldminers it became a resting place for those en route to the Omeo, Dargo and Glen Wills goldfields. Reef mining commenced in the area in 1861 as alluvial gold became scarce
The town is particularly attractive in autumn when the blazing colours of its large variety of deciduous trees creates a spectacular display. The Ovens River meanders through Harrietville, lined with attractive parks including Pioneer Park which features a museum and displays of the region's history.
Milawa is situated in the heart of the Milawa Gourmet Region, which is an area noted for its wineries, farms, restaurants and local produce.
The region also extends west to the small town of Oxley, north to Tarrawingee and east to Markwood. Major attractions include the Brown Brothers Winery with its Epicurean Centre, the Milawa Cheese Company, Milawa Mustards and the Olive Shop.
Just 2½ hours north of Melbourne - via the Hume Freeway enter the 'Snow Road" at the Oxley/Milawa turnoff.
The town centre of Milawa is situated at the intersection of the road to Myrtleford (Snow Road) and the road to Bobinawarrah. A selection of shops, cafes, and a bakery are located here, including the historic Milawa Hotel which was established in 1865
Mt Beauty is nestled at the foot of Victoria's highest mountain, Mt Bogong, in the fertile Kiewa Valley. Initially developed in 1949 to house workers during construction of the Kiewa Hydro Electric scheme, it has prospered into a popular tourist destination with much to offer.

Proclaimed a national park in 1898, this ‘island in the sky' is renowned for its magnificent granite tors, spectacular valley views, waterfalls, bushwalking and adventure pursuits including rock climbing and abseiling. Mt Buffalo and its chalet, a classic mountain lodge, was the original cradle of tourism in the region. Mt Buffalo Gorge is simply breathtaking, with a sea of clouds often seen all the way to Mt Bogong and Mt Kosciusko in the distance.
