AlpineLink was created in 1999 by North East Victorian based communication company Stones Throw Communications Pty Ltd (www.stonesthrowcommunications.com) to develop an internet business and community portal website for the Alpine Shire region of North East Victoria.

AlpineLink operates mainly in the tourism business sector and provides the opportunity for local businesses to establish their internet presence through the organised structure and with the visitation rate that a portal website offers.

Since its inception AlpineLink has expanded its operating area to include the Alpine High Country region of North East Victoria which includes the major tourist destination towns of Bright, Beechworth, Mt Beauty, Myrtleford and the ski resorts of Mt Hotham, Falls Creek and Dinner Plain.

This website also offers the opportunity for local community groups to establish a web presence and is a source of information for the local community for local activities, news and events.

In developing its business, AlpineLink has made a significant marketing contribution to tourism in the region at both a state and national level. We continually seek to improve our performance on the internet thus increasing the exposure of, and opportunities for our clients and their business.
