Imagine this...... You are travelling along the picturesque Great Alpine Road, surrounded by the impressive hills and peaks of the Australian Alps. Filling the air are the fragrances of the bush and local pine plantations.
Your mountain destination lies ahead yet you take your time and indulge in the delights of the local produce, fresh berries and wine that are offered by many farms and vineyards along the way. As the afternoon draws in, you arrive at the foot of Mt Hotham to your fully self-contained unit that is set amongst 3 acres of established European gardens. The afternoon is spent bathing in the Cas Bak pool and lazing on the sun beds.
As evening approaches the country barbeques are fired up and dinner is prepared and enjoyed on the banks of the Ovens river. Above you the night sky forms and thousands of stars appear and strengthen as the evening dims.
The next day you wake to the song of native birds. Not long after you are venturing through the historic township of Harrietville towards one of the many bush walking tracks in the Alpine National Park ....
