REPORTING Policy Statement

BASIC BELIEF
- Assessment and reporting are key accountability processes.
- Effective assessment provides the information required to improve
student outcomes.
- Effective reporting practices foster integrity and trust between
parents, teachers and students.
GUIDELINES
- Assessment and reporting processes are to comply with DoE requirements
and those approved by School Council.
- An assessment and reporting program overseen by the Curriculum
Team is structured to ensure consistency of approach on a whole
school basis.
- Unit teams are to review and publish their respective assessment
and reporting programs at the beginning of Term One to ensure:
- Consistency with school and DoE requirements
- A range of formal and informal assessment practices
- The matching of assessment with student and unit needs
- Parent information sessions are conducted by unit staff at the
beginning of each year to advise of unit plans, requirements and
expectations.
- Parents are kept informed of curriculum developments through
program information sessions, newsletter reports, formal/informal
interviews and special activity days.
- Written reports are provided twice per year for parents of all
students.
- A minimum of one formal parent/teacher interview is conducted
each year.
- Assessment and record keeping form an integral part of teacher
review.
- Assessment, record keeping and reporting are supported by professional
development.
