The School Council at Myrtleford Primary School believe, that camps, excursions and school-based activities are an important part of the primary school curriculum. However the issue of prompt payment by parents is crucial to the organisation of the particular activity.

Often camps, excursions and school based activities require set numbers for venues. The staff finds it very difficult to predict numbers of children attending a particular activity. In the past the school has actually lost money on these activities and can no longer afford the extra cost.

The School Council has therefore developed the following guidelines for payment of camps, excursions and school based activities:

• Camps, excursions and school-based activities will have final payment dates set when the excursion is announced.
• If parents do not pay or have appropriate forms returned by the final payment date then their child/children will not be allowed to go on the excursion.
• If the required numbers are not met by the final payment date then the activity cannot go ahead.

• Small payments made each week leading up to the excursion
• The use of Education Maintenance Allowance to cover the costs
• With each activity a notification regarding the method of payment will be issued: cash, cheque or E.M.A.
